2017 saw some great and very special moments………………
We have changed our name to Kokoro Karate Dojo (formerly Kibworth Karate).
We have had numerous gradings where our students gave their all to earn their next Shotokan Karate belt / kyu grade.
We came away from the annual Conroy Karate Competition with a massive haul of well deserved trophies.
Our fundraising day in November for Stand up to cancer raised an amazing £1,142.50
We performed literally thousands of push ups, a whole array of blocks, kicks and punches such as oi tsuki’s, mae geri’s and gedan barrai’s. We learned new and interesting self defence techniques for application, as a very last resort, in real life situations. There has been bucket fulls of sweat, tired muscles, loud kiais and impressive efforts from all of our students but most importantly for me to see the improvement in fitness and the exponential growth in confidence and ability from our beginners. The advanced adults have progressed amazingly well too and your kuro obi’s (black belts) await in the not too distant future. It has been an honour to teach you all and Sempai Jack and I look forward to furthering your karate studies during 2018 and beyond.
There is so much more to look forward to in 2018 with various lessons being taken by special guest senseis, another Conroy Karate competition and our annual charity event later in the year to name but a few. Oh and don’t forget another few thousand push ups!!
We wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and look forward to training beginning again in January.
Thank you all for your continued support
