We teach traditional Shotokan Karate; one of the most popular, effective and highly regarded of all Japanese martial arts.
In our classes you will learn traditional karate techniques and self defence and experience our welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Drawing from the age old traditions of the ancient past Japanese masters and the modern and contemporary influences from our present day instructors.
Kokoro Karate Dojo was founded in 2015 by Sensei Tim (4th dan black belt and chief instructor) and his son Sempai Jack (2nd dan black belt). We chose NAKMAS as our governing body for their outstanding child and adult safeguarding policies, equality policy and their ethics and conduct policy. NAKMAS hold numerous quality assurance, equality and inclusion accreditations such as ISO 9001, ANAB, The Equality Standard, Sport and Recreation Alliance, TAFISA, Anti Bullying Alliance and #iWILL.
All ages welcome.
Ideal for kids aged from 5 to 105
All ability levels are catered for from beginners to black belts
For the first 3 months, beginners can train wearing just tracksuit bottoms & a T-shirt or similar
